Resizing digital images

Photoshop

1. Read in the image
2. Select   Image/Resize/Image Size , to display a dialog box like this ( for landscape format ):
   
   
    
3. For Portrait Format, change the Height only, to 768 ;
   for Landscape Format, change the Width only, to 1024.  Leave the rest alone !
   
   
   ( Observe that the width has been reduced in proportion to the height change, & the number of pixels is much reduced )
    
4. Click OK in the image size box, to make the change. The displayed image shrinks..
6. Select File/Save As   & save the image to a different file , or you will overwrite the original -
   
   
   
    
7. Select Image Quality of 10 or more, on the next window -
   
    
8. Press OK - all done !!
